We mounted Mr. Alvis’s flag pole the evening of June 12, 2019. That day I had the current colors of the United States hanging from the porch in memory of a neighbor who had recently passed away. Once the pole was put up, the first flag I hung from it was my original cotton Betsy Ross flag.
