Today, the flag of the state of Maryland flies, in recognition of the state’s ratification of the United States Constitution on April 28, 1788. Maryland was the seventh state to ratify the document.
The flag is one of my favorite flags, given its instantly recognizable pattern and the use of the pattern as a symbol of the state in many different ways.
