Staying in the north latitudes, today’s flag is the Canadian territory of Nunavut. Nunavut, which was carved from the Northwest Territory in 1999, is the newest, largest, and most northern territory in Canada.
The flag of Nunavut was created based upon the traditions of Inuit people and developed from about 800 submissions from across Canada.
