Today, the flag of Canada flies in commemoration of Canada Day. From the porch hang the flags of the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Price Edward Island, and Quebec, along with the territory of Nunavut. See the blog posts from June 25 through June 30 for more information on the provincial flags.
The story of the flag of Canada is a great one, excellently told in the book I Stand For Canada by Rick Archbold. It was designed by George F. G. Stanley in 1964 and officially flown for the first time in February of 1965.
