Today, the flag of the state of Wyoming flies, in commemoration of the state’s admission to the Union on July 10, 1890 as the 44th state. The design for this flag was chosen our of 27 entires in a 1916 context sponsored by the Wyoming Daughters of the American Revolution. It was officially adopted on January 31, 1917.
