December 7, 2020 – Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day & Delaware

Today, the flag of the United States flies in memory of the over 2,000 sailors killed and over 1,000 sailors injured in the attacks on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Each year on December 7th, the Mt. Diablo beacon is lit as a remembrance of the killed and wounded. If you’re able to get a view of the mountain after sunset, you’ll see the beacon blinking steadily all night!

The flag of the state of Delaware also flies in commemoration of its being the first state to ratify the United States Constitution on December 7, 1787.
