Today, the flag of Japan flies in commemoration of Constitution Memorial Day in Japan. It celebrates the Japanese constitution coming into effect on May 3, 1947.
The constitution of Japan was developed after the nation’s unconditional surrender in 1945 and provides for a parliamentary democracy for the nation.
Containing approximately 5,000 words, it has not been amended since its adoption, making it the oldest unamended constitution in the world.
Also flying today is the flag of Bangladesh, because I thought I’d fly another flag primarily featuring a red circle.
