Happy Birthday to my son Colin! Happy Canada to our neighbors to the north! These two momentous days combine in the flags chosen for display today. On my flag pole flies the flag of Canada, in celebration it celebrates the anniversary of Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867.
Colin is on a big kick of liking the colors red & blue. So on Mr. Alvis’s flag pole, the red flag is that of Turkey and the blue flag is that of the Canadian province of Alberta. If I had an Ontario flag, I’d fly it for the red to keep with the Canada day theme, or I might fly the Newfoundland and Labrador flag to get both colors, but alas…
