Today, the flag of South Africa flies at half staff in memory of the life of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who was an Archbishop of the Anglican Church, a leader in the anti-apartheid movement, and the chair of South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Archbishop Tutu passed away on December 26, 2021.


The flag of the State of Nevada flies at half mast in memory of the life of Senator Harry Reid, who served as one of Nevada’s United States Senators from 1987-2017. He served as the Majority Leader of the Senate from 2007-2015. Senator Reid passed away on December 28, 2021.
