Today, I fly the flag of the United States and the Washington’s Cruisers flag, to symbolize the danger to American democracy. one year ago today, our democracy came under attack and the situation hasn’t improved much since then.
Our democracy is under threat because of the polarization of our nation and the demonization of people with whom we disagree. We’re not going to get through our current times by othering our fellow citizens, we’re going to get through this by working together and making positive change in our nation.
Our National motto is E Pluribus Unum, meaning “Out of many, one.” We need to come together, work together, compromise, and be willing to work to make our nation a better place.
In addition to doing the work that I will do to make this happen, I think that making an appeal to heaven, as Washington’s Cruisers memorialized on their flag is a good plan!
