On this date in 1965, Canada’s Maple Leaf flag became the flag of our neighbor to the north. This flag was the result of a long, contentious debate across Canada and in the Canadian Parliament.
Also flying is the flag of the Canadian territory of Nunavut, which is Canada’s newest territory.
