Today the Betsy Ross and Grand Union flags are flying in honor of my daughter and her entire grade participating in “Walk Through the Revolution,” which is a program that teaches students about the American revolution by having them play different parts.
My daughter will play Abigail Adams, Patrick Henry, and the narrator!
The Grand Union flag is consider to be the first flag of the United States. The Betsy Ross flag supplanted the Grand Union on June 14, 1777.
