Today, the Flag of the United Kingdom and the Royal Banner of Scotland fly in the hopes of a speedy recovery of Queen Elizabeth II, about whom Buckingham Palace made the following announcement:
“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
UPDATED: 10:30AM PDT – Buckingham Palace has announced, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
The flags have been lowered to half staff in her memory.
