Today, the United States celebrates the holiday of Thanksgiving. On October 3, 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the final Thursday in November as a “Day of Thanksgiving and Praise”. His proclamation reflects his faith and acknowledged his belief that God is the source of the nation’s bounty.
In my life, I have a great deal to be thankful for. I have a great family, with smart, fun, and exciting children. My wife is one of the most giving, fun, caring, and loving people that I know. I am blessed to have a small group of great friends.
Today, the flag of the United States flies in commemoration of the thanksgiving holiday.
