Twenty two years ago today, four aircraft were hijacked and crashed into the World Trade Center towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Virginia, and a field in Pennsylvania.
2,977 people were killed as a result of these attacks. The flags of the United States, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the City of New York fly in remembrance of this tragic day.
