Today, the flag of Finland flies in commemoration of its adoption on May 28, 1918. This design dates to the mid-1800’s when it was created by a yacht club. It was adopted as the national flag the year after Finnish independence from Russia.

Today, the flag of Rhode Island flies in commemoration of the state’s ratification of the United States Constitution on May 29, 1790, the last of the original 13 colonies to do so.
