Today, the flag of the Oakland Athletics baseball team flies at half staff in remembrance of the team’s fifty six years in the City of Oakland, which came to an end yesterday as the team played what is likely its last game at the Coliseum. I grew up an A’s fan, but have been extremely disheartened in the last few years by the team ownership’s disingenuous nature and campaign to leave Oakland.
I’m sad to see the A’s leave Oakland and hope that this major league city gets another MLB team soon. I don’t know which MLB team I’m going to support in the future and I hope it reveals itself to me soon!
