Today, the flag of Argentina flies in celebration of Día de la Independencia de la República Argentina, which celebrates the signing of Argentina’s Declaration of Independence on July 9, 1816.
Accordint to the font of all knowledge, the flag is, “A horizontal triband of light blue (top and bottom) and white with a Sun of May centered on the white band.” It was originally adopted February 27, 1812. The current version was adopted in 1861 and standardized in November 2010. I got my Argentine flag in 2005 in Ushuaia, Argentina.

Also flying is the Flag of Chile, which I visited on the same trip I visited in Argentina in 2005. This flag was a gift of a friend of mine!
