Today, the flags of State of Indiana and the City of San Jose fly in celebration of the fifth anniversary of my relationship with my partner Tara. I love her deeply and she brings such joy to my life!

The current flag is the state’s third and was commissioned in 1916 to celebrate the state’s centennial. Designed by Paul Hadley, the flag was adopted on May 31, 1917 and standardized in 1955. It is defined in Indiana Code Section IC 1-2-2-1.

The flag of the City of San Jose was adopted in 1984. It features a triband of gold on top, white in the middle, and blue on the bottom with the city’s official seal in the center.
