Today, the flag of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador flies in commemoration of its entry into the Canadian confederation on March 31, 1949.

The flag of Newfoundland and Labrador is one of my favorite provincial flags in Canada. It was designed in 1980 by Christopher Pratt and approved by the province’s House of Assembly that same year.
Prior to its confederation with Canada, Newfoundland was at times a self governing and non-self governing dominion of the United Kingdom. It was the last province to join Canada.
Also flying is the flag of Canada.
