Today, the flags of Portugal and Liechtenstein fly is commemoration of Republic Day and Constitution Day, respectively.
On October 5, 1910, the Republic of Portugal was proclaimed on the balcony of Lisbon City Hall after a short rebellion against the monarchy by soldiers and sailors. After the republic was declared, on December 1, 1910, Portugal’s new flag was presented. Seven months later, it was formally approved.

On October 5, 1921 the constitution of Lichtenstein was promulgated, replacing the previous version, which was adopted in 1862. Though it has been amended several times since then, this document forms the basis of the constitution which governs the nation today.
