Today, the flag of Japan flies in memory of our friend Carol who passed away recently after a long bout with cancer. Carol and her husband Jack were our neighbors for a decade when we lived in the Oakland hills, prior to their moving to Massachusetts.
Carol was a talented artist, a wonderful neighbor, and an all around caring person. She will be immensely missed.
I purchased my flag of Japan in 2019 to welcome a guest of Jack and Carol’s who was visiting from the island nation.
Also flying is the flag of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
