Mexico formally declared independence on September 16, 1810. Article 3 of the Law on the National Coat of Arms, Flag, and Anthem (as amended through May 18, 2018), defines the flag as follows, “The National Flag consists of a rectangle divided into three vertical stripes of identical dimensions, with the colors arranged in the following order starting from the hoist: green, white, and red. Centered on the white stripe is the National Coat of Arms, with a diameter equal to three-quarters of the width of that stripe. The ratio of the flag’s width to its length is four to seven. A ribbon or tie in the same colors may be attached at the base of the spearhead.”

The flag of Wales flies in celebration of Owain Glyndŵr Day, which celebrates the last native Prince of Wales and founder of the first Welsh parliament. The flag of Wales was officially recognized by Queen Elizabeth II in 1959, but dates back many centuries.
