Today, two ne flags, those of French Polynesia and Somalia fly.
French Polynesia
French Polynesia is an overseas collectivity of France consisting of the Windward Islands, the Leeward Islands, the Tuamotu Islands, the Gambier Islands, the Marquesas Islands, and the Austral Islands, as well as the adjacent maritime areas. The flag of French Polynesia was adopted on November 23, 2984. This flag was a gift from my friend Bob, who did a two week sailing trip there earlier this year.
Somalia
The Flag of Somalia is adopted on October 12, 1954. It is defined in Article 6, Section 1 of the Federal Republic of Somalia as follows, “The flag of the Federal Republic of Somalia, as shown in section A of Schedule One, is a light blue rectangle in the centre of which is a white star with five equal points.” The white five-pointed star represents the five regions in which the Somalis reside. This flag was a gift from my sister, who traveled there for work.
